I.

The most valuable opportunities are hiding in plain sight.

The world is optimized for legitimacy. Our systems for allocating talent and capital are rational, efficient, and, at scale, a force that leaves entire categories of valuable projects undone.

We go looking for those projects.

II.

Progress cannot come from the collective.

Groups can refine, distribute, and scale. They cannot originate.

New things come from individual people, at particular moments, exerting their will on the world.

We find a way to work with these individuals.

III.

New tools do not automatically produce new thinking.

The cost of building has collapsed. Anyone can ship a product, launch a campaign, generate an image. Most do, and most produce work that looks exactly like everything else. Better tools in service of conventional thinking produce conventional work, faster.

We are in pursuit of the extraordinary.

IV.

The enemy is not a competitor. It is a way of thinking.

It is the assumption that the right answer is the one that's easiest to explain. Most organizations never question that assumption because it is comfortable and it is safe.

The world does not arrange itself into clean categories. The interesting answers live in the space between.

We have chosen to work there, when it is convenient and when it is not.

V.

We seek out partners who understand that the obvious answer isn't enough.

Our partners have seen what competent looks like. They are after something else: work that couldn't have been made by anyone else, at any other moment.

We are a product studio and a creative agency. We look in unconventional places for work worth doing extraordinarily well.
